Hi folks, Thanks to this sight I felt confident enough in my DIY abilities to to fix a few things on my 2000 p38 dhse. I replaced the Hevac unit bulbs today but they still didn't light up. Are they directional like LEDs ? The unit works fine otherwise, so it's not the fuse. I've done a search and don't find anything similar to this problem so all advice is welcome. Cheers.

loose connection big white plug middle back of unit, instrument light supply oa

Got the Hevac unit out again today to fiddle with the big white plug on the back as per Druim's suggestion. No obvious loose wires so reconnected and still no illumination BUT then I had the led screen light up like a Christmas tree with the book, snowdrop, exclamation mark etc and nothing operational. I disconnected all plugs, cleaned as best as I could and hey presto, back to square one with a working Hevac with no lights except the led screen which now dulls when I turn on the lights. So, is it another Hevac unit to replace or does anyone have any bright ideas ( pun fully intended) Cheers in advance.

Need to measure if any power at bulbs, if not, open unit and check the connectors inside and the soldering/circuit board.
You haven't just dimmed the instrument light?
Fuse 1 and 8?

I'm dim but not that dim. The led is bright until I turn on the lights. How do you get into the unit ? I'm ok unscrewing and disconnecting stuff but I don't know one end of a volt meter from a chicken. Thanks for all the advice I'll give it a go before I start looking for a nice walnut one one fleabay !

The one in my old car failed, swapped with cheap fully working flea one, make sure you get the right one:)
Good to have one for spares, gave it away to someone on here that needed a part though;)

Cheers Druim, I'll leave it for now, at least I'll have heat for the cold snap. Meanwhile I'll speak nicely to OH and Maybe get a nice Chrissy present ! !
