Ok so this is my first post here though I have been gaining some useful info from previous threads....so thanks for that!!! I bought my first commercial freelander td4 55 plate about 6 months ago for my new business, high mileage but in immaculate condition with service history. All was good until on a motorway run it started with the 70mph issue that I've since learned is quite common!! I trawled the forums and then changed the MAF which improved things but didn't solve, so then replaced the boost solenoid valve....bingo fixed!!! Thing is now its developed a problem when pulling away from standing, even when stationary it revs really slowly up to around 1500 and when in gear trying to move it struggles!! Not the best when at a roundabout and pulling away as the traffic approaching gets closer and closer as I will it to pick up. This may well have been covered/ solved previously so any links to threads or general help much appreciated!! Thanks!

There are adaptions for the air flow meter in the ECM which adjusts over time. Could be these need resetting after fitting the new air flow meter.

Needs T4/Testbook to do this

When did it last have a new air filter.
LR service schedule for this part is 24000 mls/24 months, which is bollox in my opinion.

I changed the air filter shortly after buying, so about 6000miles ago. Would the fuel filter be a possible cause. There is a white/blue smoke first start of the day and this is when the revving up and hesitation is worst. When I go to rev after starting its as if there is a delay between pedal press and revs building!!

My RD4 when cold starting for the first time is verrrrrrrry slow. After about a mile or so it is okay. Until then a snail would be faster. It also smokes a little on start up for a few seconds.

Not found out why, but there is a thread on here about sluggish when cold.

I know one or more of my injectors is on its way out, but it isn't bad enough yet to identify which one.

I have also have a loud diesel knock when under load.

Mine is almost at 119,000 miles.

Had the same problem for around 6 months 'til one injector finally decided to stay open. Changed it and all was fine, but it's happening again. Not too bad, but seems like another injector on it's way out.
Done 117000.

That is reassuring that it isn't always easy to track which one is going down. When it does go, I'll probably replace all 4.
