Sorry to jump in and hijack (the photo looks incredible by the way - where?) but would anyone be organizing another outing soon? I'm really up for coming to meet new people and see different lanes/areas. Also have a friend with a Discovery that I think would tag along.

Would be good to meet if anyone would like to?

Hi Rob,

I could do this Saturday during the day. I think we're also going out Thursday or Friday night.

Can't do Whaddon this Sunday as I'm now working.

Hi Chris,

Sorry not ignoring you just got in from a works meeting thingy.

Erm I have that defender box here welcome to come and unbolt it. I'm possibly picking up a diff and front locker tomorrow tho.

Will let you know when I know meself.

Will bolt straight up however older box and not checked the input gear as its still bolted to the gearbox.

I do have a disco transfer box but the gear in that is gone. IF your gear is good you could put that into the disco box and keep your ratio as it should be.

Spent the day welding a few patches onto the back of the disco. While the chassis is sound the body and boot floor has a ot of rot so I am starting at the back and working my way forward. Removed the bumper and was greeted by a bunch of holes that looked more like a teabag than anything else! Welded on a few patches and then going to paint it... shove the waxoil from the garage inside the bodywork cavity (the car's not mine!!!) and then decide whether the rear bumper is going to be refitted or whether I will simply do something more interesting with the mounting points...

Way beyond my expertise! lets separate the 'fender unit... if the gearbox is good I could be tempted to have that as well... how much cash we talking about?

By the way... I am removing the plough from the disco - not planning to tow anything major and when I do it will likely the Chrysler that does the graft! So I will have a disco tow bar up for grabs if anyone is interested...

Pop round the weekend to seperate it if that's ok?

No Problem.

Hopefully I'll shall be installing a front diff locker to the front of my 90 at the weekend. Then hunt for some front shaft breaking terrain to play with on Sunday! I'm sure I'll twang the front end being 10 spline will have to take it very easy me thinks!
