I could also do with a spares run to paddocks at some point...

No rain here in sunny cambridge today! getting bloody humid mind, so could be on the way.

Thinking about it I have heard a good few squeaks from the nsf wheel when accelerating hard. Is it more likely to be a wheel bearing or swivel? Where can I get the parts for monday

Check your prop shaft UJ's. If it isn't wheel bearing or prop UJ then it might be a CV joint although those normally make a clicking noise on lock. BTW I have hub nut box spanner and a spare wheel bearing as well, pretty sure they are all the same size.

Thanks Kev, excuse my ignorance lol but how could it be a prop uj if its a problem with the brakes? Can you PM me your number in case I can't get any bearings elsewhere! Thanks for the offer :)

A fair question. However, funny squeaks could be all sorts of things. It is quite likely you have a slack wheel bearing, that could cause the brakes to be affected as the disc flops about and pushes the pads back so when you push the pedal it is soft as the pistons push the pads back out but you might also have a squeaky UJ. What I mean is, you should check it all out anyway. ;)

Not too sure what anybody is up to this weekend screwy, Think a few a fixing a few issues befor heading to wales in the week.

LRJ, What sorta time are we looking at for tomorrow? I shall chuck some tools and spares into the car this evening.

Need to see if my RAC cover is still intact before we go also, too much to do and not enough time to do it!

Whatever time suits you tbh mate. I have to get some food for the trip some time and I am painting my wolf rims up today and will have to take them somewhere tomorrow to get the muds fitted on. I will be taking them in the back for the journey and swapping them over in wales. What time would suit you?

Do you have a trolley jack or something more stable than my hi lift for fiddling with the bearings?

Axle stands perhaps?:D

I shall bring me axle stands, Just need to liberate them from undar mine this afternnon. And finish off the electrics.

Earlier we get it started the sooner we find out what parts we need to scrounge, erm borrow....

Do you have any jerry cans and a funnel of some kind because I have a full fuel tank which will need draining if we get time to look at the diesel leak. My dad says his volvo will probably be able to swallow 50litres of it. Maybe we could go scrounging for parts in your landy if I gave you some diesel too :D:D I guess its better to find parts when you know what you need lol!

Had an email from CharlesY about the cheap ropes. It might just be possible we can get them before wales if he manages to send them tomorrow on a next day service.

Jack, Ali and I put just over 100 ropes in the trailer yesterday. It's a LOAD! I think we will need to pack it onto a small pallet somehow. Whatever, we are NOT forgetting! We took 100 out of the pile and made no visible impression. There must be 600 or more still there. Charles

I shall be in the car, but i can chuck some parts and tools into the back. Still a few leccy bits to sort but the can be done last minute.

Ok no worries, do you have a jerry can at all though? Don't think I have anything bigger than 5L so it would take some time to drain a tank! If we have any time spare I can do some action shots of your vRS if you like :D:D Can't imagine we will, but maybe another time.

Well... how's this for a laugh...

Kai has done both wheel bearings this weekend... fine fella that he is. I thought it best to take the motor out and test it so we went out and about over toward leighton buzzard...

70 mph... pas pump siezes and melts through drive belts. Now have no alternator or cooling and need a pas pump to fit before rthe belts anyhow...

Have a pump waiting over at ware... but can not drive the motor to get there... (if anyone os over that way this weekend I would be very grateful for a shout! Not on my phone though cos that's bleedin' knackered n'all.

Other than that the weekend's going well!
