Hi,

I know there is another thread with a similar heading but its over 50 pages long for gods sake and I can't be bothered to sieve through it all  .

Can anyone point me in the direction of some lanes I can take the Freelander in the Welwyn, Oaklands, Woolmer Green, Knebworth, Hertford area. Ideally somewhere it's okay to venture with the farmers and directions/instructions would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Your best bet is to go tothe last page of the other post and introduce yourself and get stuck in. Lots of lanes and plenty of guys to get about with.

There's plenty around your way that a Freelander can do without too much trouble, some that you've got no chance of doing too. We'll let you know next time we're going out over your way.

Yea I second that your best bet is keep chatting in the forums for info on when some of us are out next. We have quite a good friendly bunch (quite alot of **** taking nothing too bad). If possible go on the freelander section and ask about recovery points if you only have standard tie down loops.

Get some info on front and rear recovery points for yout freelander then find out the best method and get them fitted before you think about going laning. Im not saying this because its a freelander they are fine and lots of fun its just because we all get stuck sometimes really really stuck and proper recovery points make it an easy and safe task for all involved. Wouldn't want a rope comming off and hurting someone. Jai

Jai, I'd third the recovery points. Don't want another Ryder incident, with Tie Down points being pulled off and pieces of metal flying through the air.

Nice one fellas. I'll look into it and keep you posted. Ive also got a lift kit planned and ordered up some decent AT boots.

BOOM, I don't know much about Freelanders, but I've heard that the Exhausts can be pretty vulnerable, might be worth planning to get some sort of guard for it too.

At the time we had no other choice no recovery points and a vehicle stuck for hours we all knew the risks and took appropriate precautions. Unfortunatly a tie down loop let go hit my rear door. People were well out of the way it was as safe as it could have been. Can't stress enough about decent front and rear tow points Jai

As a native (almost) of Oaklands, I can say that there aren't any Byways in the immediate area, and not many in that part of the county :(

And hello from a fellow Freelander driver :)
