Security wise, wouldn't the blue on fit through the gap in the gate into your back garden? It would be more secure than leaving it around the front?

I've thought about it mate, Doesn't fit, If it did I'd build/strip them round there as well so all the nosey buggers cant see me.
Loads of traffic around me both on foot and cars and people are always being nosey down the drive :(

Well the weather f*cked my plans up today.
Sat around most of the day, Got to about 3 ish and thought I can't not do anything today. So off I trundled in the rain.
Only had an hour or so, But managed to get the trans tunnel, Floor pans and seatbox out.

Been chucking it down here too, driving me mad :mad:
Decided to take my new doors apart, but got a bit stuck there too.
Was hoping to get to rolling chassis by the weekend, but that is fading fast.
Ohhh, for a double garage!

Oh how I'd love a double garage :cool:
If you've got the axles painted and ready it'll only take an hour to put the axles under. Would be a nice milestone :) Even if it is in the rain.

F*cks me of this rain as given a good day and a bit it'd be completely in bits so I can decide what to do.
 
Problem is, I've got the radius arms, trailing arms etc at my local Landy specialist to get new bushes pressed in. When I get them back I'll need to touch up the primer, paint with top coat (going to be the same as the Landy), then lacquer.
Rear axle is painted up with two coats of rustoleum. Still got the swivel seals to change on the front. One side I've managed to get the studs out of the end of the axle. Had to grind heads off bolts then extract remaining studs. Planned to do the other today, but rain stopped play!
I've decide to experiment with painting this axle! I've first painted it with 'Aqualsteel', the rust inhibitor I'm then going to paint the rustoleum over that. I'll be able to compare the lifespan of the paint on the front and back axles.

So, waiting to get the bushes in and the rain to stop!

Yeah bushes are something I usually leave, But this being older than the others I've done, The bushes aren't brilliant.
So I intend to invest in a press :D

Be interesting to see if the axle holds up any better.
And hopefully this rain ****es off for both yours and mines sake.
 
Had another couple of hours on it this afternoon.

Had George's missis watching me out the window :rolleyes:

So disconnected the rear wiring loom, Unbolted seat belt mounts, Tub to crossmember bolts.
Removed sills.
Then lifted the tub off.
Chassis is actually not bad, Looked **** to start with but it's just old crappy underseal that's coming off.
Only found 1 hole so far and that was me with me big 'ammer :D
Will make a decision about it's future when I've been over it properly and it's fully stripped.

Bulkhead wants a foot on the o/s and a top corner on the n/s.

Next job, Remove the fuel tank. And that was it for the day.

Infact one more thing. Bit of nothing but wanted to see what the old paint would come up like.
Gave it a quick rub on one corner with some g10 and it came up a treat. If I didn't have to do some repairs on the body I'd be tempted to do it all and leave it like that.

Cheers :) Paint takes ages mate, Painted the last 2 project and brothers 90. It's the prep that's the worst bit, Actually quite like the painting.
 
The chassis looks in pretty good nick, How old is the Landy, marra?
The tank looked good too. The seam looks spot on. I'm not looking forward to cleaning up the seam on mine in case it falls in two :(

No point rushing anyway as I've got **** loads to sort out :eek:
Mainly find a Daf 45 (and driver) Or an engine and box (although I'd rather not go down this route)
Decide if I want to buy a glav chassis :D
Source disc brake back axle.
Sell old td to recoupe some funds :eek:
:blah: :blah: :blah: There's loads to sort anyway :eek: So things will slow down shortly.

Chassis is better than I thought it would be. I was thinking galv chassis again but seems a shame to scrap a good chassis. Still not 100% on which way to go yet.
Landy is an 86 mate.

Haha my last one had a hole in it where someone had screwed the floor down :doh:
That's the problem with rebuilds, Everything looks fine and dandy when you take it off, But when you attack it with a hammer, screwdriver, wire brush or whatever your weapon of choice may be. It ends up f*cked. Or is it me being heavy handed :eek:
