hi all
need some assistance
my 96 4.6 hse when it runs on petrol is runs like ****e...........especially when pulling away ,no power almost as if out of petrol but then sometimes it stinks of petrol...
when on lpg runns like a watch and bags of power ..
any ideas??

Do you have sequential multipoint LPG / Ecu controlled ? If so see my post here

its multipoint by romano
and it was fitted about 20 months ago no probs up until now

The pressure can drop in the lpg system due to the diaphram in the vaporiser stretching over time. The engine ECU detects the lean running and adapts. Therfore when you run on petrol which is supplied atthe correct pressure you end up running rich. If you was to run around on petrol for a while the ecu would adapt again and all would be fine, except for you would now run lean on gas. Bottom line - get your adaptions re-set and get the gas system tweaked.

Could it be something simple like stale petrol???
Doesn't last foe ever even inside the tank.
Just a thought.

OK
just gone to start it...
fired and died
cranks over but now wont fire was running yesterday..
fuel pump is running but when you try and depresurise the fuel rail no spurt of petrol.
but if u short out fuel relay and hold valve open petrol comes out
have put battery on charge
going to ck spark at plugs next but battery on charge due to cranking,althought the battery is only 2 mths old

any ideas??

will it start on gas ok? i know it probably wont from cold but was it ok before?

how much petrol is in there? you could always try it from cold by switching the switch from gas to petrol then back to gas before turning the engine over. this usually puts it in to start on gas mode!
