Hi all, this is my first post so bear with me. I have just bought a 2007 3.6 V8 Range Rover vogue. It’s has just developed a problem. It went into limp mode the other day so I used a OBD reader and it showed no error codes. On closer inspection with the bonnet open I found a small split in the right hand (i think it’s called - intake manifold air duct hose which is very short and has a 90 degree bend). I taped it up for now with strong duct tape which seemed to work. There was a whistle noise as well which I assume is to do with the hose split? When I removed the hose it had quite a bit of oily gunk and carbon build up which I cleaned out, is this normal? Is there any advice about what parts I should take off and clean out?
Sorry there are quite a few questions in this post. I have just I a a few weeks left on a basic warranty from the dealer where I bought the car but as he is miles away ( I know it’s my fault for purchasing a car so far away but it was a good deal and a great example) if there is any major issues going on I would like to know. Appreciate and help or advice, many thanks.

Was it though ?

Be ready for some mickey taking you have the word Ejoke as the heading you have an L322
the oily gunk will be from the egr valves which is normal
others will know more than me
This is what happens when people don't know trim from model, and then get the spelling of the trim wrong

Manifold splitting and turbo hoses splitting are known problems. Reluctant to mention that other forum cos I see one of my posts on here about having a wander over there to look on wiki section has just been mentioned over there if you get my drift.

He's been a member for over 5 years so should know the format by now. :D
Shame he deleted the post before others could give their advice/help :)
I'm sorry I never quoted him...

basically it was about kwikfit refusing to do his rear toe, or at least shirking the need to do it..the rest you can probably gather from my reply.

From your reply I'd gathered it was a bigger job than the OP had budgeted for. I was a bit confused as to where the 18 year old scrap/crap came from so googled B348XYX but that's an Audi

His L322 is also 18 years old, that's where I deigned to offend re. rust.

I feel a bit self conscious that he wasted his first and probably only post on me, but I suppose it'll wash off.
