HELP!!!!

Hi, everyone! Pie-rat here! New to the Landyzone, are there any members local to Tamworth, Staffordshire, that could confirm that I have a head gasket issue? I have a Disco 2, 4 litre V8, that runs on LPG. It is chuffing like a tractor, R/H side of the engine. Engine is still running relatively smooth. Need help as Mrs is going mental for me to get rid & get, "something sensible," don't want to get rid, as if I do, probably won't be able to get another, unless someone can help!! Have taken in to be looked at, but, repairer does not want to do the job? as it is a 53 plate? Help!!

its likely exhaust manifold gasket or head gasket, remove the manifold and prove it

have had the manifold off, gaskets are like new!!

Where did you take it and why wouldn't they do it due to the age?

Try RKAutomotive on Lichfield road industrial estate if you're not sure what you're looking at

if its blowing and you can see soot or smoke its head gasket, if its worse through the air filter it might be an unopening valve

That's where I went, looking to see if there is anybody on the LandyZone forum who has done this repair job themselves & would help me to do it! I am keen to do it, but, don't have the knowledge!!

Ask in the disco section if it's a disco yer need fixed.

Haven't noticed any soot or smoke, but, it does run on LPG, don't know if this would make any difference?

lpg makes no difference to that , if youve had exhaust manifold off youve done the hardest part
