HELP !!!!!

I have a 2005 Freelander TD4, coming hame yesterday evening when pulling into my drive she stopped dead, no warning just stopped. She started a couple of times later in the evening but this evening nothing, it seems to try and start and futs out a bit of smoke. the pump seems to be working .. any person know where to start looking, my toe is sore from kicking it LOL. Thanks in advance

Sounds like fuel starved. When did you have the filter changed or air leak preventing pressure. Another fuel solenoid problem.

Not getting enough fuel by the sounds of it! Start with the filters.

Get it on a fault reader to see if you're getting the P1260 low pressure fault code.....Possible fuel pump

Fuel rail pressure sensor, disconnect it and see if it starts, if that fails reconnect it and try disconnecting the high pressure fuel pump pressure regulator and try starting it again.
