Hi hope someone can help. My range rover vogue hse 4.6 1996(p38?) has srs abs lights on and a leak in the driver side airbag (also has the don't drive over 35 warning on) and is now sitting really low and rumbles when driven to the point it could shake your teeth out. What the cost of fixing the leak?

replace the leaky airspring first, get the EAS software and lead from Datatek -if you dont have it-and take it from there. One thing at a time ;)

springs are easy to do if you are a little handy, minimum tools required about 30 mins each for the back a little longer for the front.Where are you as you may be near me or someone else who can lend a helping hand?. about 60-70 for a front spring and a couple of quid for new clips as the old ones usually break.:)

Hi,

Do a search, there's loads of info on here and air springs are fairly easy to change if your at all handy with the spanners.
Here's a link to an air spring repair guide. Air Spring Replacement Don't be put off the job is not that bad.
Island 4X4 are a pretty cheap supplier for the bits and as mentioned the EAS software and lead from Datatek (a member of this forum and EAS expert) are a good investment for the P38, you do of course need a laptop for this.

Good luck and :welcome2: to the forum.

Ah, an east coast man:p.If you have your passport handy and you fancy a day out bring it over and bring a new airspring with you, and i would be happy to fit it for you.I have the software and lead here to reset the hard fault and get the message off the dash. But you would really need to get air in the systerm to get it up first so can drive it over. The compressor is not running because of the 35mph message on the dash,so will not lift the suspension till you can get either the hard fault reset or force the compressor to run and inflate the system. If you were a bit closer i could easily do this for you FOC.:)

Cool ty don. And cheers rod I'm Glasgow man myself jst stuck in fife due to the missus lovely place though. I would consider the drive to Ayrshire but I'm pretty sure there wld be nothing left of the range rover with all the bouncing around she's doing :rolly:

you're welcome mate. As said for very little money get in touch with Datatek and he will send you the software for the EAs and a lead, all you need is a suitable laptop and you can get the message off the dash and the compressor will run again and let you get it up in the air.You will be suprised how easy it is to change the airspings once you have done one. There are a couple of you tube videos and plenty threads on here to help.
All the best mate and enjoy your RR.

Never replace just one airspring, the minimum is a pair front or rear or the handling may be unbalanced. If one has failed the others will be close to failure if they are original. They have a life of 7/8 years 80K miles.
