Does anyone have a spare fan drive viscous coupling for a '96 V8i
Disco?

Mine seized up on the motorway and I think me fuel consumption dropped
to about 9mpg ))

Anyway, took it off and went into local LR dealer who said I had wrong
one fitted - Mine has 11 blade fan, but chassis prefix is 'TA' which
means apparently that it should be a 7 blade fan.

If anyone has a spare for sale, or can put me in touch with a good
second hand dealer, I would really appreciate it.

John

Really?

My 87 V8 RR has a solid one fitted? Should they be able to spin on thier own
rather than in time with the belt?

I have a couple in the shed that I've taken off 3.9 EFi vehicles. You're
welcome to have one if you can arrange collection.

I'm in North Yorkshire, near Harrogate.

early RR had a solid fan, later ones have viscous hubs. if the viscous is
working right, you should be able to hear the fan spin down after a minute
or so from a cold start - at about 2500 revs the fan makes a lot of noise,
and when it slows down, you hear it winding down, or you do on my disco,
anyway.
