hi guys im new to the forum and would appriciate some help
i started my l322 2004 v8 this morning and stood in front of it having a fag whilst scaping the ice from the light and after 2-3 minutes i noticed a pool of oil gushing out from underneath so i quickly turned the engine off. from underneath it apeared to be coming from the rear of the engine on the drivers side and it wasnt a drip it was pouring! (at least 5 litres) as im no mechanic i called my cousin who is and has been for 20 years and he called round to look he wiped oil from around the rear of the sump and botom of the gear box area but could not see where it could have came from! so we put 5 litres of oil in which brought it to the correct level on the dip stick and started her up with him laying underneath and on top down the side down the back and after 2 hours running there has not been another drop of oil spilt . my wife and i have a four month old baby and we dare not risk using the car until theres an explanation please help.
