hi, we have a 2004 freelander sport and we bought it in january this year not had many problems with it until today, went to garage we always use to but diesel in hubby is adamant it was diesel he drove approx 2 miles dropped me off then drove another 2 miles and parked no problems when he went to start it a couple of hours later it is turning over but will not start any ideas its been suggested that it could be fuel pump but we have not had any probs before today and also said it could be ignition switch but again we had no probs starting it before today.

Try the cut of switch under the bonnet

so a) is your freelander diesel ? b) did you fill it with diesel ?

could be fuel cut off switch back right of engine bay under fuse box behind battery, big red rubber button on top

Very common to be a injector leaking back. Do a search on here for how to test.
Easy way to check is to spray some easy start in to the air intake pipe if it starts and runs fine the nearly sure to be an injector.
