Hi all.
2005 LR3 wont unlock with the remote. It has been suffering water ingress lately and a couple of weeks ago I sorted out the 2 front blocked sunroof drains. Seemed to improve over a few days but has been getting wet again over the last week. Electrics have been going a bit wild over last few days (fans coming on and off, hazards coming on, car wouldn't lock etc). Now its locked and wont unlock!!

Its my partners car and she has reported this behaviour but I haven't seen it for myself but now I have gone to take a look it wont open.

Any ideas for starters how I could get the thing unlocked?

Thanks

Found the manual over ride on the passenger door and got it open thanks.
With it having 3 sunroofs I suspect there are drain issues on one or more of them.
I have already done the front one.
The back is also wet through now!

Not alot of help but do rule out a windscreen leak for any water ingress at front.
Sounds like you may need to get plugged in and see what faults are showing.
Nice motor but i could not afford to keep one going

Thanks.

I don't have anyway of finding the fault codes.

I guess for now I will have to focus on finding the leak.

I just bought a hawkeye £250
May be worth your while getting one if you intend keeping car
At a round £50 per plug in at garage, could soon be in proffit.
Good luck with it

Hi Mark. Spent all day yesterday stripping front and back seats out, taking up rear carpet and dropping front headlining. First problem I eventually found was that the driver side front sunroof drain was disconnected from the elbow under the dash. Any water coming down that drain was just emptying into the car. I have reconnected that one now and have attached a funnel to the sunroof drain pipe and it empties freely outside now. Next I am going to pull the vent off the wing on that side and open up the end of the pipe a little. The passenger side footwell is also soaked but I haven't been able to get to the join yet (might have to move the fusebox?). I have drain tested it with the funnel and it empties out OK but still suspicious given how much water is on that side. I may get some food dye today and test again.

I believe that there are sometimes leaks from the pollen filter under the glovebox too so I will check that.

Once I have done this I will turn the car around and check the rear drains but I checked these last time and they both drained OK.

I might leave the rear seats and carpets out for a few days and see how it goes.

Any tips or anything I have missed?

Thanks

Same old problems, just different motors.
My passenger foot well leak was the screen, but TD5.
Get the bride to hose it down for an hour or so while you sit in and look for leaks, or are you already divorced
Anyway it sounds like your in there and going for it.
Good luck
Mark

Hi Mark
Checked all 4 drains now and dried out as much as I can. Left the back seats out for now and things are much drier. Central locking has started working again but still some odd things happening with the electrics. Did a dye test and all seems OK.

Fingers crossed!!
