Hi guys.

We recently had a big problem with the car going into limp mode with every light on the dash, suspension wouldn't rise etc. Found that there was a lot of water coming in down the driver side pillar, down to the footwell. Turns out that water ingress over time has caused various electric connections to become corroded. The guy who fixed it cleaned up those he could and replaced a plug and lead that entailed having half of the dash off.

That said we have now set about finding the leak as we don't want a repeat. We have blown out the front drains and they are now running freely, but the seal around the glass on the sunroof is torn and split. Cannot find one online so spoke to the main dealers who advised this seal is not available separately but comes with a new sunroof glass at a price of £659 plus VAT. Does anyone know of a decent alternative? My better half is inclined to seal it with black Sikaflex as we don't generally use the sunroof anyway.

Surely if the drains are running now if a little water gets in the channel around the sunroof it should drain, not come into the car? Is there anywhere else we should be checking?

Not saying it's the same, but my disco 1 has a leak in the front passenger footwell.
I have checked all the places that it can come in and finally found it.
Water is getting in as it travels down the A pillar windscreen seal.
Try slowly pouring water along the top edge of the windscreen.
Mine is tracking down and in through a bolt up behind the dash.
I have been told by two independents, that I need to get the windscreen resealed.
Hope this helps

Seal the sunroof with gaffa tape and see if that cures it, sikaflex it if it works, sunroofs are nice but not essential.
Water can also leak behind the screen A pillar external trims, there was a mod kit of some bungs/tape to cure it, think all the bits are meant to be changed each time new screen fitted.
Have you checked the scuttle to make sure its dry?
Other thing is the roof joints open a knatts cock and let water in, I will see if I can find the post/thread.
