help with sat nav

hi all,ive just got my first range rover (x reg)vogue.can anyonde tell me how to get the sound on the sat nav,ive checked the mute button and volume settings but still no sound,is this because i dont have the disc in the unit,does anyone know if you can put a used disc in or does it have to be registed etc.

indeed you can put a used/copied disk in the satnav computer as i have one in mine
i dont think you will get any sound from it untill you have a disk in the computer
you can alter the volume etc via the menu button
a word of warning never disconnect the battery while the orange lights are lit on the satnav computer

ive just had a look and there is a disc in the unit dated 01-02.does anyone know how to tune the radio into the sat nav.many thanks

If you download RAVE (Plenty of info on how to do it and links on the forum)...you will find all the information you need on there including user manuals for the Carin Sat Nav.

You don't tune the radio in, it comes over automatically providing you have the volume set on the sat nav. As Irishrover says though, download Rave as all the information is there. Failing that, you can buy it ready made on CD for around 2 or 3 quid on ebay. Failing that, handbooks are always coming up for sale, also on fleabay. You're going to need one so you may as well get one at the beginning.

ive got the instructions and turned up the volume but still no sound,also when you press the cd button on the radio nothing happens,is there anyway these are connected
