erm,,,,, the bits i mostly fiddled with (on the disco..) were,,

there are two large bore pipes, coming off the carbs and joining into a Y piece then going into one pipe...(does this make any sense..??)

Think they are water pipes..?? Anyhoo... on the Y piece is a knob with a spring underneath. I think it does 'something'... Mixture maybe..??? I found this to be wound right in, so backed it off and lo-and-behold..... GAS POWER....

If anybody has a more technical explanation, it would be most welcome..

Yup, makes sense and they are gas pipes, don't think my Y junction has a valve on it though, makes you wonder why the previous owner screwed it right in

if she's now running on gas then leave it be, but she could be running to rich or to lean, depends if you opened the valve up enough or opened it too much

My thoughts are something is wrong with the gas system and the previous owner screwed the valve shut for some reason, you will know if something is wrong when it goes bang lol

just been for a longish run, all seems ok. Will have to check out the mixture to see if its ok. Any idea what is the best way.? Will a co2 meter do the job ok.?

I'll have to pass on that one, I've been informed CO2 meters are designed to sniff exhaust gasses from petrol and not gas and will give inaccurate readings ( I don't know this for sure, like I say, Just something I was told)
