Help with level sensors setting

Hi every body Defender 90 owner, I have bought a Discovery 2 and need to replace the level sensors on the air. I was looking in to this and see that it will require nanocom to reset the level. I was just wondering if there is any one close to Hamilton South Lanarkshire that could do this for me.
Any help truly welcome thanks in advance for any help.

First question, why do you need to replace them?

The one on the drivers side was changed when it was in for welding and the ride height on that side is down.
I got it back yesterday and when I was checking I noticed that the rubber on the bottom of the near side one is burst.

Personally, I'd replace both bags if you need to replace one anyway, unless it was damage/failure of a fairly new bag

Hi Kermit it's not the bags it' the sensors. I don't know if the one that's been replaced is mabee faulty as the level was OK before they changed the drivers side one.

Cheap new ones have been known to be no good. You're right, nanocom or similar is the only way to get sorted. Sorry can't help with that

No problem mate, just don't want to spend £450 on a nanocm. Just got the Disco and spent £1100 on the MOT. Mainly welding will have to save a lot of pennies for a galv chassis for it.

Just not long got the Disco and spent £1100 on the MOT mostly welding to the chassis. Don't have the outlay for a Nanocom at £450.
I'll have to save my pennies for a galvi chassis.

i understand that, they are expensive but pay for themselves in no time with code reading, clearing faults etc

Hi. In most cases that's because the battery was not disconnected before the sensor was unplugged, the calibration is lost only if the ECU gets an open or short circuit signal but that can't happen with battery disconnected.... though there is a slight change that the sensor is bad too especially if it's cheap aftermarket, what's certain is that now you need a diagnostic tool anyway

It's was a few years ago but pretty sure my NT510pro did.

I know cases when foxwell had glitches with height calibration, better bite the bullet for a nanocom cos it will pay for itself in no time

All I can say is it worked on the Disco and lot's of times on my L322.

Well guys ordered a nano evo yesterday. what measurements do you put in for the height, do you measure from the bump stops to the top of the axle?
It will be with me between 5 and 10 days they say.

The best is to use a T type bubble level tool like in the pic on the boot floor(or two classic ones positioned in T), use two jacks each rear side and adjust untill the bubbles are both at the middle then store those heights... then you know that the vehicle is straight all the way
