He did say please, and he did offer to compensate for any "help" given with folding beer tokens.
Its quite probably a job he hasn't done before or got confidence in doing and is just asking for a second pair of eyes/ears/hands that have more experience than he has.
While he might have sounded "pushy" perhaps his skills are elsewhere and not in flowery pleadings for help.
Perhaps someone who does have the know-how (I sure don't) could enter into a dialogue to find out where his hang-up is on it as a DIY operation and offer encouragement?

Have you downloaded RAVE? I just followed the procedure there and it went OK. However, you do need the locking pin (or drill bit the same size), the FIP holding tool and the adapter and dial guage.
