Help with barrel locks please!!!

Hi all,

I am in the process of fixing my old landy (county 90) and I have the lift handle locks. I ordered new barrel locks for them and they fit fine into the cylindrical hole on the front driver side door.

HOWEVER...... upon tightening the retaining screw the barrel lock does not actually lock the door, no matter what I do with the key in or out, it fits fine and doesnt move about.

I have not removed the lock yet but are there any parts which I could be missing that enable the locks to work, or does anyone have any suggestions about how to get the locks to work??

Is the rod connected at the back?

Which rod is that?

On the passenger side door, the lock works fine and it isnt connected to anything..... ie its just the barrel lock and parts in the cylinder.

Is there a schematic for this thing anywhere? Bearing in mind my landy is a county so it has the lift handles not the push button type.

sling them weld in chubb 5 lever dead locks in stick some yales on (post office lrs do this) n away ye go look how good rattys dead locks where
even though the bastrds torch hi baby they couldntr grt in the back

I was thinking it was push button handles. There's a rod that links the noggin on the barrel to the gubbins on the door.
