Quick test to ensure the rig is air tight , found a few leaks which were sorted , don’t think candy minded I borrowed her bath, lol

So tested it with 40 psi, stayed there for an hour , sprayed soapy water everywhere , couldn’t get to the back of the condenser

Tested the low side first , then both together , no drop

Had enough for today so will try it again under a vacuum , but first will strip out the air inlet ducting in order to reach the back of the condensor , really want to prove it’s leaking before removal

Have got a new condensor , but will see how it goes

Low side on test

I see a bobble hat, coat wearing D3 driver in your future:).

Good job on figuring it out with what you had “laying” around:D.

Think I used nearly all my fittings for when I done the air suspension , lol

Will remove some more panels etc to see if I can get to the back of the condensor

Was expecting it to drop very slowly , might be a different story under vacuum

Did top it up last year with an ac diy kit and lasted around a week

Many thks as I do like a challenge and never give up till I’ve found the answer

Bit of progress today whilst waiting for some new torx bits , have managed to find an old one so might be able to get some out,

But Concentrated on getting the other smaller bolts out, moving expansion bottle out the way , inc fitting a temp hose to stop me loosing coolant

Sanded the small piece of plastic in front of the torx bolt so that it will then sit nice and flat

Plus will try using the hot air gun on the bolts, goes up to 450c and having that fine nozzle might help to heat the torx bolts up, know it’s only a cheap thing but ideal for what I need it for, other connector is for a soldering iron

Can see now why the bonnet slam panel has to come forward , to allow the dryer on the condenser to come out

So a little bit more progress today ,

Found using a long bar and 8mm socket to remove the bottom bolt

Got 2 x bolts out with using heat from hot the air gun other 4 x no chance

Wondering if it’s worth cutting the excess threads off the back of the bolts

Other 2 x bolts either side can’t get to them

Re soaked them in plus gas, will have to wait now for the new torx bits to turn up

So made a little progress today

Trying to think what else I can do to try and make it easier getting them out , maybe using the new torx bits and the impact gun ??

Don’t you just hate the guy that invented those bloody things:mad:

What’s wrong with a 6 sided head:D

I am sure he invented some sort of stupid tech reason and sold:rolleyes:

Keep at it you are doing a great job:)

Many thks and indeed those torx bolts are the work of the devil, lol

So replaced the shrieder valves with nice new ones

Managed to finally get the glue off the inside of the back door where it had a window tint , couldn’t see out the back of a night time , took about an hour to get all the glue off

Redone the bonnet where I had removed the letters , also left the lights out because of being in the middle of getting the condenser out

Just stuck now of just getting the 4 x torx bolts out

Got to wait for the new T40 torx bits to turn up, weds of thurs ??
