Im looking for an experienced Landy to give me some advice on my potential project. Im a complete novice when it comes to these but up for the challenge. Im in North Hertfordshire and need and willing to pay for some sound advice. Failed Mot but I have all summer to tinker with it. Any reccomendations for honest and reliable guy or girl who would have a look at my Land Rover. As no MOT or tax Im not able to drive it anywhere and am fed up with being ripped off by local garages with my Omegas. I hope I do not need a new chassis but will need someone who is a mobile welder:) Was not sure where to post this:doh:

you won't need to pay for any advise here, peeps will be happy to give it (even if you didn't want it)

have you bought a vehicle or do you have one in mind ?

maybe post some pics ?

I was given one for some work I had done:) I had mentioned I wanted something to use on and off road. I didnt know it needed quite as much work. I have been working on my omega estates this year had have enjoyed getting dirty:D This landrover runs but I would love to get it legal by next winter. Im offering to pay as would like someone to come and have a look and do not expect their time and fuel for nothing. I will post what it failed on 2 years ago, just worried the very long list would have got longer:(

Body work issues

nearside and offside rear ( out rigger ) suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded.

offside and nearside ( inner/outer xmember ) suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded.

offside ( chassis ) suspension component mounting prescribed area is corroded.

all other things ( 12 ) are routine that I can fix over time but need to assess if chassis can be fixed or has to be replaced.

Hey mate,

There is alot of us in Bedfordshire Well Luton and most of the Herts lot make it up to our pub meet we welcome everyone to. If you do indeed come bring some photos of your project there is always somone willing to have a look. Take a look at the Herts Laners Thread in the Greenlaning section. Thats where most of us local people hang out. Jai

nowt to worry about there - find someone local who can do some patching for you, along with a bit of chopping and replacing - be surprised if that lot cost more than 100 quid (including welder beer tokens) to sort

some pictures or what the MOT man has marked would be useful
