hi to you,
just a couple of questions, has been raining lots lately ,now found new swimming pool in the tool/jack box in boot as well as wet carpet. checked the site for possible causes. Am i right in thinking new rear door seal?

Also strange noise we i accelerate , like a whooshing or fan sound . no loss of power though, when i lift off it stops. not sure if its turbo hose connected . where can I find any pics or things showing hoses etc as i`m reluctant to take it to the stealers. thanks for any serious replies.:frusty:

Morf. Take it easy. **** taking and banter are part and parcel of this forum. Unfortunately your post did looka a bit unusual so was targeted as **** take material. I have moved this post to the freelander section and made it look normal. Don't panic. We were all newbies once. You usually find you get a 50/50 split of **** take and advice. Owning a freelander you may find it is more 80% **** taking and 20% advice. Don't take it personally and just join in with the banter. The ability to laugh at yourself aswell as others is an advantage. I hope you get it sorted.:focus:

it might be possible to "adjust" the existing rear door seal. took mine off and refitted, albeit a few mm further round, and the slightly different position cured the problem (for now)

the whoosing sound is almost with out doubt a split intercooler hose, of which there are three on the td4. open bonnet. long one goes across front of engine left to right, just under right hand end is a small right angled one, and then under this is another oddly shaped one. feel all the way around looking for oil coming out of the pipe.

favourite spot to check is just above the dipstick, where the hose chafes on the engine cover mounting bracket. If it is this, when you replace it, cut a piece of the old hose and wrap it around the new one where the chafing occurred. that way the new hose is protected.

good luck, there are some piccies in the gallery which the links are below for you. If it is this hose, do a search as there are a few tips to make fitting it a bit easier.
