I ordered some parts from Jon Daunter back in August and he charged my Visa at the time.

He was unable to fulfil the order and finally we agreed for him to send the parts he had & refund the balance.

I got the parts but no refund and at this point I'd like to report it as a crime, any idea which UK police office would handle this?

Thanks for any help
Steve

your local one but to be brutally honest. They won't do ****.. just claim the payment back from ya card company and they'll refund the full amount. Then he can come after you for the correct amount owed.

edit just seen ya location. just claim back off your card

Report it to the trading standards hotline.....My Freelander had been 'clocked' by 20 k, can't see why, as it was a dirt cheap 3 year old @ 83 k with comprehensive service history. They took the chap to court as there was 'history' and I received 1k compo. Nice 3yr old (56 reg) for £5200. Still going strong 3.5 yrs later with no real probs

thanks all, will try with visa

I must also add this was my only bad experience buying from the UK, including a fair few £££ on car parts for my Landies, Spitfire, home stuff & gifts.

Dear Stevema,
I found this thread only after after dealing with Jon Daunter - 1 month of chasing and now waiting the 1 month to see if the debit card people can help me. I should have used my visa instead ! I have a very strong case with documentation and timed notes, so I'm hopeful I will see my £420 again. They really are shocking, and they have a 1 page full colour ad in one of the landy mags this month. Thats chutzpah.
I know even more time has passed but did you get you money back in the end?

Dear fanatic,
That looks a very interesting site. Cheers.
Mrs NatoTea is fuming over the issue.
I searched the web for something like this but never hit on it.
Lots to read, so I better get cracking.
Thanks again.

If not, just get around his site one night with some battery acid. You'll feel better. Also consider small claims court, it's so easy.

they are in the latest edition of landrover monthly and try to blame another firm for using their name I think I will dig it out tomorrow and try to post it on here

Dear Gentlemen,
Now I'm really confused. I saw the ad in this months LRM. The details in the ad are the Jon daunted ltd I have been dealing with. Initially I did not see the 'breaking news, and I can not find the letter from the kiwi in the aug issue of LRM to which it refers. So are there 2 Jon daunred Ltd? I'd so why does the innocent party not take more action? Who is the real Jon daunter? And what are there details? Who have I been emailing and speaking too? Who was rude to my wife? Who are the card services going to investigate? I,m smelling smoke and mirrors here.

Right found the other letter. It was in the Sep issue of LRM. It only mentioned Gloucestershire not Jon Daunter.
So are LRM running full page ads for a large scale fraud? Does the real JD ltd not have a website? What is going on here?
P.s. I do appreciate all and every reply. It makes me feel less hopeless.

Dear All,

Just a quick note - Mrs NatoTea checked the bank account today.
The £420 has been refunded by the Debit Card company (HBOS). So thats defiantly a route worth going down.
This is a nice result for me in a pretty tight time.
I've learnt a lot of lessons from this whole experience.

I shall continue to watch the landy press and on here for the 'real jon daunter'.
