Help..Swing Away Arm

Evening,
Hope someone can help..thinking I was clever I bought (fairly cheap) Swing Away Arm for my hard top. The one I bought was a Mantec one originally for the Wolf military vehicles??? Part No. VPLDR0129, but at first offering up it looks like the bracket to hold the piston to the door will make it stand off too much? Others I’ve seen come with a flat plate, mine is a saddle type shape with around a 30mm offset.
Anyone successfully fitted one of these???

I'm thinking a wolf defender would have a drop down tailgate maybe? And is yours a swing out one or even a full rear door? They have different fixings i think. Pics would be great so we're all clear on what youve got

I think the extra depth must be for the recessed tailgate for the pick up...grrrrr.
Will need a flat plate and swap the fittings.

Mine came with that bracket, just ditch the spacer but.

Mine had a spacer type metal bracket, but I could unbolt the spacer part and just mount the flat plate straight to the door

Rather then try to resell it, and buy a new one, think I’ll try to get flat plat cut.

I’m gessing around 4-6mm plate would do the job?
Do you need to cut holes for casters and nuts on the back of the plate, or just space it off??

I have had a look at mine, the I individual parts I've bolted to the old door mount plate and put grommets in the holes
