well, after 2 weeks with my 95 p38. I think i've found all the problems it has.

first (and most worrying) problem.
when i accelerate hard, in 1 or 2 gear only. i hear a loud clacking noise. like a gear missing a cog o something(dunno, not a clue). any help would be grateful.

Second problem.
Climate control screen shows a booklet with an exclamation mark, manual says nothing. could it be i need to recharge CFC gas?

third problem
cruise control does nothing. the light on the button comes on but the steering wheel buttons do nothing. ideas?

fourth and last problem.
Not many P38's here in Spain and RR parts here are expensive. can anyone tell me of a cheap seller who posts throughout europe.

Thanks for reading, i really need any help i can get

Ok ive answered myself to the last three problems.

but the first I still dont have a clue what it is, i found people with similar problems, the noise seems to come from the gearbox or the box after it (sorry i dont know the name in english, the one where the 2 proppeller shafts come out.) in any way im not sure, its just a feeling

Hi there.
When mine went it was diagnosed by putting it on a steep hill and applying the power, the drive chain jumps the teeth and makes a godawful noise, strangly it did no damage to the teeth even though it was about an 40 - 50mm longer when i took it out. Quoted £900 pounds + vat, dont think so said i, friend dropped transfer box for me, £100, i stripped it down and fitted chain which was ZF genuine part £180 ish and friend put it back in. Total £280 + oil. If someone drops the box it really is simple to do on an old dining table.

Let me know how you get on.

Cheers, Nick.

Hi Alfonso .
How Did You Solve The Second Problem ??

Well after a weekend off with the car, i came to the conclusion it definitely is the chain, ill get on with that as soon as i can.
thanks for the answers, it dissipates any of my doubts.

In reply to chabrolly's question:

I've just arrived home and at a stoplight i pumped the brake 2 or three times. A/c booklet dissapeared, started cooling really well and the brake pedal felt harder, on the other hand, the steering went harder.

Dunno maybe someone can help, cause i don't think the A/c has anything to do with the hydraulics or if the steering is at all connected to the brake circuit. Any answers?
