Hi,
Two week ago my discovery 2 power steering pump failed, I replaced it the other day only to find my keyfob no longer opens the car? I unlocked the door with the key and silenced the alarm with the fob.
When I put the key in the ignition the dash flashes and beeps but settles and I can start the engine.
I have a symbol that looks like a battery flashing so I recharged the car battery and replaced the keyfob battery twice but no change.?
The car drives but no other doors will unlock either with keyfob or by the rockers with on the dashboard and have also just discovered the indicators/ hazards not working?
Any ideas please

Alan

I think some kind of miss-functioning are happening here. Is there a way to check whether the wires are all right or not?

The fob won't operate the door locks but when I put the key in the lock and open it it sets off the car alarm which I can the cancel with the fob?

Did you disconnect the vehicle battery when you did the power steering pump?
I've no experience of this and don't really know what I'm talking about yet. However, I've just been reading up about my immobiliser because I'm having problems starting my Defender after a 2yr rebuild. I've put a new battery in the fob and still nothing. However, my owners handbook says that if things have been disconnected for a while or you experience other problems you may need to input the security code manually. (The fob usually does this for you) My handbook says you do this by turning the ignition key from 0 to II and opening and closing the drivers door. eg if your code is 2345, you turn the ignition to II and off twice the open and close the drivers door 3 times etc. If you do it successfully the fob resyncs with the car. So it says! Might be worth reading your owners handbook or googling to see if something similar can be done with a D2

Thanks for that mate, I disconnected for a day as at first I took it that when the fob didn't work I though car batter flat so that was why doors didn't release.
Obviously now I know different.
I need to find out about the inputting the code, a mate is taking it to his garage tomorrow to see if any fault codes can been seen when plugged into the computer.
