Hi
when im accelerating to move off from the junction the car judders and is usually worse when doing hill starts etc. the car has had a total new top engine mount, ive checked its all tight etc, ive also removed the front propshaft to make it 2wd as i thought that was the problem, but there wasnt any change. any ideas are greatly appreciated.
its a 1998, s reg, freelander, 1.8 petrol, manual.
Ive now refitted the front propshaft no change still juddering. Ive got a receipt for a new clutch in june 2009 aswell.
I look forward to your replies
Thanks

Well if it's ok once your off the clutch then it's going to be either oil contamination or a faulty clutch and hopefully under 12months guarantee.

Im going to try and replace the two bottom engine mounts first as I have a sus****ion that the rubber may be gone in them. People have told me that it could be the rear diff mounts but how could it be that if it was still juddering with the front prop off.
The trouble with the clutch is that I only bought it about a month ago for spares or repair needing two new drive shafts. So I cant go back to the garauge even if I knew where they were, as it was dont june 2009.
I hope it isnt the clutch, just think its worth me replacing the two bottom engine mounts first as its easier than the clutch.

Anybody else have any more thaughts?

If it's engine mounts or stabilisers it will clunk when you move on or off throttle without being on the clutch. If it only judders when using the clutch to take up drive then I suspect that's where the problem is.

sounds to me like a clutch issue possibly duel mass fly wheel if fitted. had same sort of issue with my td4 while under warrenty .md replaced both hope it helps
