Hi all, hoping someone can help.

I had an SRS warning lamp come on a couple of days ago. I don’t know if it’s relevant but the truck had been parked outside in direct sunlight all afternoon at high 20*c/low 30*c temperatures.

When I got in and started it, the red SRS warning light came on.

I’ve just plugged in my nanocom and it’s come up with “code 019, The left hand pretentioner measures a short to ground (permanent)”.

What should be my first steps in resolving this? Should I just replace the pretenstioner?

Have you checked the wire to the pretensioner, if its under the seat the connection may have worked loose or the cable chaffed.
Do you adjust the seat regularly?
 
Thank you @Iancorky that is exactly the kind of suggestions I was hoping for. I’ve only had the truck a couple of months so I don’t know how much use it had before that but it’s certainly feasible. I’ll go and take a look.
 
I don’t like it when I ‘fix’ a fault without actually finding a fault.... I had a look around under the seat and thankfully due to the bright yellow sleeve it was easy to spot and follow the wire. I gave it a gentle tug at the plug (secure) and felt along as much of the wire as I could and didn’t find anything concerning.... just out of curiosity I then turned the ignition on and no more SRS warning.....! :eek: No Fault Found but fault fixed.... hey ho.
I’ve only had the truck a couple of months and the nanocom for a couple of weeks less and it has already saved me a garage visit to diagnose the fault! :D:p

My old D2 dashboard has suddenly starting to light-up like Blackpool illuminations! I took it to my mechanic who used his diagnostic device on it and got the same result - a ground reference fault. He looked at the appropriate areas but could see nothing. It is coming and going quite randomly now, the only one thing that is in common to the illuminations is the extreme heat in the recent sunny weather. I am waiting for it to cool down, weather-wise, before getting concerned. I am assured it is nothing to worry about.

I’ve no doubt of that!! :eek:o_O

I have suspected it to be heat related however it is reassuring the fault disappeared after investigation in the reported area at fault. I’m not that worried about it, I just don’t like lights on my dash. :confused:
