Hi these people are not too far from you I have bought parts from them and seem okay they may be able to help, might be better to look for good second hand engine lots about in the UK but not so easy to get it out here now, what has gone on the old engine?

Thx Ian M , I’ve got a quote for a recon engine from the uk from the Freelander specialists and need someone who’s willing/can fit it. Land Rover France won’t help due to age of vehicle.

I would look for a smallish local garage, a Freelander 1 engine change should not be a problem for most Mechanics ask around to find a good one, hope you get it sorted

Sorry, the only person I could recommend is in the Tarn so a long way from you and I am not sure he deals with FLs.
Do you have a place over there or are you there on holiday?
I'll do a bit of searching in French for you and get back on if I find anything.
How are you with the Frog lingo?;)
Hi SS, ok with the lingo and sourced a recon engine from uk - fitting is a big issue here as very few specialists...

I agree with @Ian M in France, you should be able to find a non-specialist willing to do it, at the end of the day, an engine swap is an engine swap. Of all things LR this isn't the toughest. Just hope that you don't have too many problems with the electronics.
But never fear, we are here to help!:):):)

Hi Mark, unable to tow/transport

I know getting a recovery company to travel any distance is a lot of dosh. We had to use one, and they were cheaper than most as they had just started and were trying to get business.
Wondering if it is possible to hire a trailer and get someone with a 4x4 to tow it for you?
What about a plant hire company? They might quote you, as they are forever moving plant about.
