help needed with grinding

grinding noise coming from front i think but could be under dash area only ever heard noise when driving but and as i cant sit in passanger seat when driving, feels like the brakes might be on when pulling away but have checked brakes they fine ehat sort of simtons does the i.r.d give when on way out or could it be vc please help

Check the metal disk guards aren't bent or out of place and rubbing on the brake disks, however these wouldn't be strong enough to make it feel like the brakes were on when pulling away. There are also other small metal parts that can become bent out of place and grind on the moving disk such as the pad retention clips.

Have you re-fitted or renewed your pads recently? Even if you've just done them, the way they are fitted can cause a grinding and cause them to stick. Could even be something simple like a little wd40 needed on the caliper.

Saw the topic and thought someone might be wanting to go at their Hippo with a 12" petrol grinder - got me all excited. I'll get back in me box now.
