Is there anybody on here that can dig me out of the poop!!!!!
Came to fit my side steps today "oasis" style(disco 2) started by fitting the chassis brackets first, did the first 3 no probs, came to do the fourth and thats when it went severly tits up!!!, before you fit the chassis brackets there is two stand off bolts(one frt. one rear) which bolt to the chassis first, then you attach the bracket to these and bolt up accordingly, when I came to tighten up the rear one, the f***in nut just sheared straight off!!!!.
does anybody know how I can get a replacement stand off bolt?, coz I'm thinking even tho the steps are brand new from the stealership, this aint gonna be covered, and also I'm thinking the only way I can get a replacement is to buy the whole kit again!!!!

anybody know any different???, all help greatly appreciated!!!!

cheers, Andy

its like an extension, just in from either end of the step theres, well like a chassis leg??, you do away with the nut on this, and screw on these extension pieces with a thread on the end of them, this enables you to then attach the brackets for the step at the correct height, if that makes sense??

it looks like a piece of hex bar with a thread turned on the one end(male) and with a inward thread on the other(female)

cheers Andy

:( Hi There:eek: .I did my TD5 a few weeks ago and i didn't realise that the stand off bolts were slightly different lengths. Now One side of my cars new side steps are perfectly straight and the other side is slightly ****ed.I am putting off changing it back because they were a bit of a TW*T to fit in the first place. You could try re- threading it ,otherwise it's e-bay.
They certainly make it easier getting into the car:D :D :D .
Bob.
