All,
I hope you can help, I am a car novice so please bear with me!
I have recently bought from a pal a 2004 RR Vogue 3.0d. It had 69000 miles on the clock and has been dealer serviced since new.
On the last service they mentioned that the car needed to be recalled for Diff Recall. It went back and was done.
Now 4 weeks later I was driving along and I heard a bang, sounded like a popped tire. The car then started vibrating and losing power. The car wouldnt over rev but just wouldnt pick up pace. I pulled over and the car is making a loud knocking noise when idle, sounds like a spanner in the works and the car rocks very slightly from side to side with the rev counter flicking (not by much but the needle isnt steady).
I called the RAC out and they said "It sounded expensive" but couldnt offer any opinion on what it was.
Can these two items be related? I dont want to take it to a dealer to be paying thousands until I am equipped with at least a little bit of advice.
Apologies for being vague.
Many thanks in advance!
Alex
