My engine on my discovery v8 blew up and so I've been and sourced a new engine but the problem I've faced is that someone has attacked the bell housing bolts and I've spent all day trying to get them out as they've all been rounded. I've got them all out except for the top one on the passenger side no matter what I do I can't get it it to shift spanners just slip as do sockets. Has anyone got any ideas? I've already taken out the engine mounts so I can get to it but space is tight and I'm out of ideas.

Yes I've tried both but the 6 sided just seem to jump. It's doing my head in was only meant to take 2 days to swap over and I've spent 2 days struggling and I've still not got the engine out.

Yes I've take the engine mount rubbers out and dropped in down onto the chassis mounts and I don't think their is enough room for a hammer and chisel unless it borrower size but could be wrong

Take the nose off an impact driver and fit 1/2" extension bar onto it direct(or as many extensions you need ,and use with a tight socket and big hammer

The Irwin sockets are cheap enough around the 20 quid mark and worth every penny! Once you have some you will wonder how you fixed your landy without them!

Irwin all the way those things have saved me so many times and still seem as sharp as the day I bought them!!!

failing that cut the head off with a dremel and get the rest of the bolt off once the engine is out of the way?
