Help, near Bristol

Can anybody recommend someone who can fix a gearbox problem and rebuild the engine of my SIII 2.25, somewhere in the Bristol area, who is trustworthy and good at his job?

Parently Steve Hill Landrovers in Brislington, Flowers Hill knows what he is doing but personally never used him.

Is it out of a capable DIYers Hands?

Steve Hill has told me he thinks I ought to get the gearbox rebuilt, but he isn't keen on doing it himself. He's happy to take the gearbox out and happy to put it back in, but he isn't happy to rebuild it. Capable DIYers? No idea. I don't know what's wrong with it, other than it has jumped out of first gear a few times recently and seems increasingly reluctant to go into first. The engine runs OK but is tired. Driving up Tog Hill, which is quite close to where I live, leaves her gasping like a asthmatic chain smoking OAP running for a bus.

I i said never used him just heard the name around and people speaking highly.

I have a mate who works at a Overland place in Keynsham area, not sure if they undertake that sort of work the generally just kit landys up for overlanding.

You could ring Christian Autos he is a parts supplier based in kingswood but may well know of some small independants.

for engine stuff if you can get it out bristol automotive are worth a go in hanham..

gearbox try gloucester road geaboxes.. always on the radio worth a try i spose
