OK Landy lovers, for several years I've been trying to persuade her to let me have a Defender 110 CSW, Early 1990s model probably.

However, she's a frugal, eagle-eyed lady who doesn't miss a trick. I need hard evidence and arguments to get round the following:

Bad fuel economy
Reliability
Risk of rolling

Factual evidence will really help.

All help appreciated!

Show her who's boss !
I got my 90 2 years ago and she don't like it.
Just got her a 300tdi Disco and she loves it, just keep on & on & on & on, she'll come round in the end !

If not p/x her for a different model !

Fuel Consumption. Not much yuo can say about that, but Land Rovers generally last a lot longer than cars so once they get a bit older depreciation becomes minimal so they can work out a lot cheaper than other cars. If you're having to change you car every 2 or 3 years it will cost you a fortune, no matter how frugal it is.
Reliability. Big failures can happen to any car, but will probably cost less then on a "normal" car, so it is worth repairing instead on binning and replacing (see above). For smaller things many Land Rover parts are still comparatively cheap.
Likelihood of rolling. Where's the evidence? I believe they recently found the Defender is one of the safest cars on British roads.

whos money you buying it with ,hers = proplem ,yours = no proplem end of conversion

dont tell her actual figures ffs!!!!! lets face it they aint known for economy, but they are on par with any other 4x4.

roll overs are only a problem if your to brave off road, or cant drive.

reliability depends on how its been looked after tbh, but parts are cheep as chips comparred to anything else, plus if your handy with a spanner then you cut garage bills out.

just do what any one else would, lie. :)

Buy her a pink Prious ...

... if that's not good enough tell her to feck off ... ;)
