hi everyone
I'm really strugaling with the landy today, iv bin trying to bleed the brakes today to no avail... I've bin bleading the old fashond way by putting a pipe on nipple and pumping with a freind and then when he holds it to the floor i open the bleed screw, i tryed for atleast 30 mins and got ****ed off lol, so i read about using a seringe and bleeding the other way round, with the resevoir cap off, there dosent seem to be any air in the pipes on the back axle, but theres nothing coming to the front. its a series 3 88 with duel system, could it be the spliter thats on the chassis, if so how do i reset this? if anyone has any other ideas i would b most greatful.
Thanks dan

tap the master cylinder after every release, they can stick as piston goes further than normal and sticks, if you still can't bleed it and get bubbles suggests master cylinder ****ed

i no this dosent mean anything (being as its from ****part lol) but the master cylinder is only 2 months old but i will try that tomorrow
Thanks dan

Hi,

Split systems are the work of the devil.

Twin leading shoe front brakes are impossible to bleed. (unless twin systems have a seperate hose to each cylinder .... I've never looked).

The outlet/bled nipple is on centre line of wheel cylinder, so there is trapped air above it.

Solution is to wind adjusters right off, let pistons go right into cylinder, reducing space for trapped air to minimum. Then bleed the brakes, adjust back up afterwards.

I had the same frickin hassle doing my brakes, so i bought me self an EZ- Bleed kit. It's a one man job, with a pretty much instant reslut.
Only cost about £20 but im happy to lend you mine if you want to pay for the p+p there and back.
