Hooooooooooo Rayyyyyy .How the hell did you find the problem its not
that easy to see that pipe. When you get a chance let me know what you
think of that cam PLEASE.

Who's Ray?!

It was the pipe got my new special sillycone one fitted and it's fine now.

Liking the new cam (crower 50229) can feel there's abit of extra oomph to it, seems to pull better from about 2000rpm right round to over 4000. No change to idle or anything else either.

Bad news, my autobox is nearly dead. Making a noise like an injured hamster between gears and the oil's all horrid and dark grey!

I'm going to Offroad it today so I fully expect it to die. I've been thinking. Out converting to Emmanuel. From what I gather I need a r380 box ( guessing one from a v8 so its got the the right bell housing), pedal box, clutch 'n flywheel, some bush for my crank and all the other little bits like release fork and hydraulic bits. Also earth out my current ecu gear selector wire with a 510 ohm resistor. Anything else? Will the knobs pop straight through my holes?!?! In the tunnel

Hi mate

I'm no expert but you seem to have the idea. Might aswell fit a switch in that ECU lockout circuit and hide it. Free security measure, seeing as green hornet has a thread going on security.

Does the auto selector have a square trim or rectangle? The tunnel apertures are all the same but you might need an Emmanuel centre console to finish the job right.

It's quite evident that you need a donor car so that you've got a the bits. However, finding a manual 3.9 is not an easy job! We're there any ever made?!

Tdi box won't fit so you need v8 box, Or you'd have to have a Tdi box converted at Ashcroft. Speak to Jamesmartin, he'll be able to confirm the difference, it might just be spigot bush so you could machine that up.

Otherwise you could get a 3.5 car, that would be the easy option, but it's not so much of a great gearbox (mines fine but it's not brilliant at changing gear!)

Tbh mate I'd do it.

Everyone raves about auto for off road but I just can't get my head round it.

I abused the beejesus out off Offroad on Sunday and it didn't explode!!

There's a v8 r380, flywheel, clutch, cooler pipes, and pedal box on tut tinternet for three fiddy!! New autobox bout a grand!
