Help identifying axles

Hi all. So while stripping down my the axles ready to rebuild I found that the diff pan was full of filler. As I was sitting on the fence over whether to make the switch from my 200tdi disc/drum setup to the later disc/disc, I've now started looking at used axles and found the ones pictured below for sale. Obviously they are front and rear discs, but the diff flange where the propshaft attaches appear perfectly round, which is unlike any others I have seen. The axles are advertised as 'early defender'. I have asked the seller for more details but would also like the opinion of the community.

Can anyone use their expertise to diagnose if these are likely to be 10 spline or 24 spline, and if it looks original spec? Thanks in advance.

Thanks James. Is there a chance they have different diff ratios then? The seller said they both came off the same 'early defender', so hopefully they're matched...

any thing other than series is 3.54 ,except odd special builds

For future reference, what are the signs that an axle is Disco 1/RRC and not defender?

i was going by the back plates but they look more defender now the suns not on the screen but they are basically the same axle 300tdi on

Hi, sorry to hijack this thread but it’s of great interest to as well at the minute.... after a year and a half of moving I have finally got back to my project!
First job I thought I’d refurb the axles, mine had a dodgy plate poorly welded on, so I bought another axle to do the refurbishment on.... thing is, it’s slightly different to mine

It looks like it will fit, but I can’t figure out what this extra bracket is for.... I presume it’s off a disco or Rangie, any ideas?

have you a pic of the brakes,measure radius arm bracket width as well

The bracket is 4mm for both plates

its abs axle possibly defender td5 but all the later defender disco rrc axles are the same except the brakes and mud shields
