Help identify this wire and pole

Accidentally disconnected the wire circled in blue this pic. Now my glow plug won’t light on dashboard and car won’t start. Couple of questions

1. what is it? Is it a ground?
2. Any tricks on getting the bolt back on its very tight in there.

Meant to mention this is under the diesel injector pump

its the stop solenoid,it wont run unless its secured with the nut

Ahh that’s what it is thanks. I am guessing that’s why my glow plug light won’t come on when I turn the key as well? Thanks

Would not thought it would affect glow plugs but may have earthed and blown a fuse when you tried to start it.
