Help I think my engine is stuffed!

I have an 04 td4 hse, I have had starting issues over the last year so took it for diagnostics check found several fault codes, 1 being injector 2 malfunction. Fault codes were all cleared and I was told to drive it for a few days and then re check for fault codes. 3 days later on the m4 I think I've blown my turbo, loud wirring noise, loss of power whit smoke from rear and engine reving itself! garage have removed inlet manifold and found oil in number 2 piston but not the others! I'm going to have a look myself later and talk through possible faults with my mechanic. Any thoughts before I visit him?!

stuck electric injector #2 hydro locked it could have bent con rods. could be a expensive repair bill

white smoke usually indicates blown turbo, unless it was steam then thats another problem

ive had a look at it in the garage and it had cylinder 2 full of oil the others aren't. My mechanic and i both agree that if the turbo had blown we would expect to see oil in all the cylinders not just no 2, as it would have come up the inlet manifold which is common to all cylinders.

He put it back on the diagnostic machine and it showed the no 2 injector malfunction code again as well as low fuel rail pressure and low boost pressure. all of which were there the first time round a few days ago.

I have now given him the go ahead to do a compression test on no 2 cylinder, if that is good (unlikely) then he will check turbo and look at changing no 2 injector. see how far we get first though.

Garage has checked compression, and all seems ok with the pistons, engine turns over no problem.

the turbo has blown though approx 10mm play in the turbo shaft!

so looks like i'm looking at a recon turbo as well as the injector 2 to change.

Can anyone recommend a recon turbo supplier as the on the garage use want £530 for one. but i've seem cheaper online. garage says hell fit whatever i want but he obviously hasn't time to shop around (fair enough) he did warn me of some recon turbos being not very good though.

so any recommendations?

If you search "turbo technics" they have a supplier at Darlington, probably other places aswel, they are brilliant! They recond a turbo from a tomb raider 90/110 can't remeber exactly which one, but it ran brilliantly after that.

told you turbo when you said white smoke sorry can not help you with a second hand one, in that case you pays your money and takes a chance, see if you can get one of a later car and with a warrenty ,on it some will.

Recon turbo fitted and injector, oil and filters changed, all cylinders had good compression. All fitted and working now
