Hi, I am hoping someone here can help me. I have a 110/2000, and recently the headlamps starting misbehaving. A few months ago, the lights stayed on after the switch and the engine was off, so I unhooked the battery and in the morning when I reconnected the battery the problem was gone. Then it happened again some weeks later. Then Sunday night sometime during the night the lights turned on, and the battery was half drained when I went out in the morning. I keep the battery unhooked now when I park it at night. Yesterday when I came home and shut the car off, the lights were off. I thought I might not have to unhook the battery. As I walked around the front to go to the house, they came on again. The main beams are not the problem, because when I actually turn the lights on the lamps are brighter. No problem with any other lights (side, rear or signals). I've tried pulling fuses, and here is what happens:
Headlight-LH, main beam - no effect
Headlight-RH, main beam - no effect
Headlight-LH, dipped beam - no effect
Headlight-RH, dipped beam - RH light is off
Main headlight relay - no effect

Is there something I'm missing? Any suggestions or should I take it in?

Thanks for any help you can offer.
Tamara

Hi Tamara,

Sounds like the lighting relay is sticking on.
My lighting problems were caused by some nana wiring up extra lights wrong.
Do you have any extra lighting fitted? Or indeed any other electrical add on.
If so check they're wired up proper.

I thought I'd post the solutions I've found in case someone else finds themselves with the same problem. Someone in another forum had suggested the relay as well, the dim/dip relay. But apparently, mine doesn't have one. However, the fog lamp relay seems to be the problem. I removed it and cleaned the connections, and so far the problem seems to be fixed. Perhaps it was the ground. I know if the problem comes back I'll go right to the fog lamp relay again. However, the part number is YWC 104430, which doesn't seem to exist in the parts banks. So I'm not sure what I'll do if I really have to replace it.
At any rate, thanks for your input.

your lucky, my headlights you can only really see when they are on full beam, and to get them there you have to hold back the stalk. if not on full beam then it looks like i've got some candles in there!

sounds like you had the same problem as the other person on yours and somebody has switched the wires on the back of your fuse box. undo the screws that hold theplate in place and have a look behind.;)
