Help fitting rear shocks on a 110

I am fitting new standerd shocks on my 1986 110, i got the old ones off with no problem, getting the new ones on its the trouble.

I can fit them in with all the washers and bushes on but there isnt enough roof to fit a nut on, am i doing somthing wrong or is this normal? I have the washers and bushes in the right order so im abit puzzeld as to whats going wrong.

you need to compress it.lower gently on ground and when pokeing thru pop on nut.carefull...

Yes, what you are doing wrong is fitting shock absorbers to the roof.
