Hello everyone.

I've had my old 1990 RR Classic for about a year and a half now. I generally have other cars too, but I love my RR, especially in the winter time as it gets very cold and snowy here on the German/Czech border.

Recently on a visit home to the UK I picked up a nice set of leather electric seats. My car is a Vogue, but it was supplied new in the Sultanate of Oman and never had leater seats.

The nuts and bolts are straight forward, but before I replace my teddy bear seats I wondered if someone could tell me where I get the electric supply from for the seats (current ones are manual) and also which wires do what?

Chris,
You might be lucky and find that under your existing seat the electrics are all there. I doubt they would have modified chunks of the loom depending on the options ticked, more likely they just didn't connect them up as they were manual. This assumes heated/electric seats were available for your spec and year!
If not I would think anyone half decent spark could run a power feed for you. If its anything like fitting stereos make sure the rest of the car works afterwards!

I thought there may be an unused plug for them somewhere. But without looking I wondered if some bright spark (pun intended) happened to know exactly where it's found. e.g. it could be somewhere under the centre console.

Unless anyone comes along that has done this before, I suppose the best thing is to look myself. Perhaps the Haynes manual will show what wire is what on the seats on the wiring diagram. I can run wires myself if I need to.

I'd say the wiring is there.

Check out the Electical Troubleshooting Manual (ETM) section of RAVE and you'll find a connector locator section with photographs of the connector locations as they are in the vehicle.

There's a member here jonnyp38 who crazily offered to get RAVE to anyone who wanted it a few days ago - 29th November. There used to be a link here somewhere but the mods might have removed it for copyright reasons.
Its got the full workshop manual for all Land rovers.
Its an essential part of RR ownership.
