Hi everyone basically I bought my first Land Rover a couple months back YEYY! Iv always wanted one and found a freelander 1 (2001) for sale within my price range so all was going well until I got the orange engine management light flashing I changed the spark plugs and coils/leads with no effect. So I plugged it in and got the following codes po170, po300 and po313 having googled these it was suggested to be a injector problem so I replaced the full injector set up and I'm still having the same issue. I spoke to a mechanic who suggested the distributor cap or rotor Arm could be the cause but I can't find it on my engine can anyone help (sorry if I'm being stupid)

The distributor cap is the thing at the other end of the spark plug leads. Apart from the engine management light flashing, are there any other symptoms.

Maybe your motor is one of the new fangled types that don't have a distributer, instead they have coil packs. Although I would have thought for 2001 a distributer would have been used, sorry not familiar with freelanders. I don't know if you have a obd socket for plugging in a code reading diagnostics tool but if you have, that's what need doing. Stuttering and misfiring could be almost anything. How far have you driven it since fitting new plugs? If it's any distance, take a couple out again and look at the colour of the tips, the colour and condition may give a clue. Hopefully someone with more freelander knowledge will be along shortly to give better advice.
