hi there can any one tell me if i need any special tools to fit a 3 part clutch before i take the f***ing thing apart :)
also some clear oil comming from under car at front of carany one know if this is to do with the clutch

to be honest i was going to order a 3 part clutch but i also am leaking clutch fluid do a need a new clyinder also just to night at asda car in reverse stoped stuck in gear when turnd engine off it came out put when i turnd on it would not budge then pedal went to floor and never returnd my dad will fit it but asked to find out if any special tools are needed

Its the hydraulics, it comes as a sealed item. You have to disconnect the pedal linkage, then track how the old system is removed. Clips hold it all in place

i have had a look under the bonet there is a pipe comming out towards the right hand side of the bottom of the engine thats has broken of and lying on the mesh sump guard looks like it has a white rod in it this is where the clear oil was comming from is this the master cylinder or hydraulics & is this a easy fix ?

hi there thanks for all the help on this is removing and fittikng the slave cylinder a major job or straight foward once more cheers for all the help ps any one know the part no lol

is this the right part no STC000160 /STC000180 if so i can source the part for £56.00 including post and is this part located on the underside of the car at the right hand fronst side of engine i will add photo of broken part later

not sure about the part number but just had similar problem with my petrol model.

as you look in from the bonnet, remove the air filter for access to the slave unit. you'll see the cylinder and bracket.

easy to replace, the master is a 1/8th twist fit mechanism, but needs detached from the pedal first.

as described in a previous thread my cylinders practically disintegrated on removal

good luck.

petrol 98 model, 1 part unit? no great problem to fit, just remove the air filter for access to the slave cylinder.mind the hose routing and clip points. watch yer head when the master unit is unclipped as the pedal will spring uncontrollably upward.

the part i got had instructions for fitting also the haynes manual was usefull.

am no expert on these things but the change out was pretty easy.

are you changing the bracket aswell? if so watch out for the thread dimensions on the 3x bolts as i had 2 coarse and 1 fine thread bolts, don't know if this standard or not, just note the postions as they come out
