Hi I have been fighting the 3 amigos for a view week's with no luck cleared the left front wheel with a new sensor . Right front wheel is showing a periodic fault . So far I have changed the wheel sensor and the wheel bearing as the sensor was worn away on one side . But still no luck still has right front wheel sensor periodic fault . I have put the bearing in the right way as my freelander has the plastic sensor held in with a bolt gets it signal from the wheel bearing . So I am stump any one got any ideas what could be causing this fault . If I don't get it cleared I won't be able to MOT it .
Ps I have the icarsoft tester for landrover

Did you fit the correct spec sensor and bearing for the age of your car?

What model year is your freelander and what parts did you fit?

2003 53 reg 2.5 v6 es auto . Yes it is the correct bearing and sensor for my car there is only one sensor that will fit black plastic sensor with a blue plug . wheel bearing is the one for this modal the sensor gets it signal from the bearing there is a sticker on the bearing so you know which way round to fit it . Got the parts from a independent land rover part dealer . From my reg and vin number

Hi Neil,

Remember the ABS computer is a dumb piece of electronics that senses voltages, compares with an internal reference table, and throws a code if they don't match. It has no idea if the sensor is good or not. You need to think about things other than the sensor - reluctor ring, wiring to sensor, or the computer itself.

If you don't have access to a scope to check the sensor signal, at least ohm it and compare with another handy sensor. Check for 5V reference at the connector - pull the wiring about as you do so.

Thanks for the info . I have checked the ohms it's a new sensor testing below 1ohm not checked for volts will try that . I have the icarsoft diagnostic tool for landrover this says right front wheel sensor signal periodic . Will check the wiring and pull the plug of the abs ecu see if there is any green on the pins look like I will have to cancel the MOT

Just check the resistance on another sensor to confirm that's right. Also check continuity of the sensor circuit right back to the ecu.

Why not leave the plug out of the ABS ecu for the MoT? :lalala:

You ain't seen me, roight?

Can't leave the plug lights still stay on . I think it has a wrong drive shaft on the driver's side as the abs sensor is wearing on one side not the bearing side
