Thought I'd write a quick intro as I've just registered with this forum.

I bought a low mileage 110 V8 a couple of years ago and have been doing a rolling restoration since then (first job was to change the colour as it was an ex council vehicle and had been painted a very tasteful combination of green and yellow). Plan is to make it into a mild overlanding truck for touring in Europe so there's plenty of work still in the pipeline.

That's a good job you've done. With a V8 that's a nice combo. If you're gonna do Long distance check oot the mechanical side; drive train, suspension n all that stuff. Good luck .

Mechanical stuff is next on the list. I've had the gearbox rebuilt and put in a Discovery transfer box (but I might put a Defender one back in). I've also replaced the camshaft with a 3.9L one, decoked the heads and sorted out minor mechanical issues. But the I feel the engine is due a full rebuild sometime soon. Also need to sort out the suspension with new bushes, springs and dampers. As ever the list of jobs never seems to get shorter.
