I am the owner of a 2000 Freelander since mid July this year. Not driven it much as I was having problems with changing gears, clutch was renewed but still not 100% happy with the gear changes. Fairly confident it is not my driving! Happy to be on this site with so many keen and knowledgeable owners. I am sure I will learn a lot and looking forward to doing so. Currently living in South London but looking to relocate in or around the Birmingham area. I am a keen crafter.

Hi and welcome. This site will assist with loads of issues you may encounter with your Freelander . Lots of experience on here. I too had issues with gear changes on my Freelander mainly when it was hot and in slow moving traffic . When your clutch was replaced check and see if they changed the slave and master cylinder! If it's petrol it comes as one unit. It could also be the mounting bracket that the slave fits too. These are prone to breaking and cost about 10 pounds on ebay. I've just had my slave and master cylinder along with the bracket changed. The garage charged if I remember correctly 166.00 including labour. But this was for a decent slave and master cylinder there are cheaper ones on ebay but was warned off of them.
